Ｑ：能否請你介紹一下自己？
Ａ：我從小生長在台中的鄉下，並不是生長於都會區，也因為如此，我可以接觸到許多的大自然，花花草草、山啊、海，這些 都影響了我將來創作的養份。我剛開始接觸到服裝設計的時候是因為看到了劇服的設計師葉錦添（ Timmy Yip ），他所設計的作品，讓我覺得非常的驚豔。之後又看到了John Galliano在2004年所呈現埃及風一系列的高級定製服，讓我非常的驚訝也更加確定我想走服裝設計這條路。
Your style…
I would define my style as “warm”, “bold” and “colorful”. Actually, this is what I try to pass on to the people who can see my artwork. I want to deliver a “warm”, “bold” and “colorful” experience. I am from Taiwan, and this beautiful place is a tropical island where warmness and colors are everywhere. For the “bold” part, I can say that it comes from my enthusiasm!
Ｑ：你如何定義你的設計風格？
Ａ：熱情、奔放的色彩是我想傳遞給觀者的感受，我覺得台灣是一個熱帶的島國，不應該只有灰暗的色彩，應該是多元、豐富而且繽紛的島嶼，我希望藉由“熱情”來表現出我的風格。
Fashion design & process making…
In my opinion, fashion design is a great mix that combines different components and I like to play with them. For example, I like to look at the creative process of Fine Art to integrate a variety of materials into my fashion design works such as paper material. Indeed, I use paper material on which I do painting, meaning that I use some painting skills to create my garment fabrics. Then, with some wrapping and sculpture techniques of draping, I design painting paper for clothing. This is a long process making that involves different steps and crafting skills. In the end, I would say that this is what makes my fashion design creation unique.
Ｑ：你是如何選擇你設計創作的素材？
Ａ：因為除了服裝設計之外，我也接觸了Fine Art方面的創作，所以我試圖以各種不同的材質融入作品裡面，比方用紙材加以我的繪畫，然後利用打版及立裁的技巧，用異材質的拼接跟布的融合，做成一套套的服裝，我希望以這一系列的作品來呈現與眾不同的創作。

如果你是規規矩矩學院派，那你可能會不懂得欣賞多元的素材融合所產生的創意和生命力。
也可能因為不敢冒險，少了點意外的驚喜。
Your definition of “creativity”…
I strongly believe that this is fundamental to learn the basics and the traditional way to be able to think of some new way of enhancement. In terms of creation process, I think that the traditional technics can give you more knowledge and confidence to build-up something new on the top of it. If you want to make a revolution without knowing the past it could be very challenging to succeed. Innovation comes from the capacity of evolution and inspirations from observations from the past to envision novelty. This is how I would define the concept of creativity: innovation and authentic inspiration.
Ｑ：對你來說“創作”的定義是什麼？
Ａ：要藉由傳統，在經過傳統我們才可以做出不同的變化及創新，所以我覺得向傳統學習是一條必經的路，而非一開始就天馬行空式的，然後創作的時候需要“三八”一點，這樣可以讓創作的思緒及靈感都更豐富一點。
Your influencers…
I very much like people who made some difference in that industry with creative design concepts. Firstly, Christian Dior: he was one of the pioneers to develop a women image totally different from what was done before. I admire the way he re-design the bodyline for women with a remarkable sense of elegance. Secondly, I put Alexander McQueen among my greatest influencers. I have to say that I am very receptive to the environmental issues that he addresses. On the other hand, he also is one of the people who bring fashion to the level of art. That’s the reason why I am always excited to watch his fascinating fashion shows that are pure fashion art performance. I put him on the same level together with John Galliano who contributed to develop my passion for fashion. Galiano knows how to pick some anti-conformist elements like the “porn-chic” to turn them into a fashion trend. Finally, I also would like to mention Zac Posen among the people I follow. Indeed, I like his sense of aesthetics for dress design. He can simplify the construction of a dress to just magnify the elegance part. In addition, he’s one of the few who really conceptualizes the mutual influence of West and East in fashion design. He is definitely a great sensation… I keep an eye on him.
Ｑ：你最喜歡的設計師是那位？為什麼？
Ａ：其實有很多位，像Christian Dior，他創立了新的女性線條，讓女性的腰身及優雅的線條都展現出來。我也很喜歡Alexander Mcqueen，因為他不只關心環保、環境的議題，也運用各種特殊的版型與藝術的形式來展演他的SHOW。還有John Galliano，他把戲劇、情色，甚至是次文化…等等，融入他的設計，他的每場SHOW都令人期待與驚喜，最後是Zac Posen，他運用東西融合的概念，簡化了很多禮服元素，但也創新了禮服的架構，他的作品非常的大氣與優雅。
Asia on the world fashion map…
Actually, there are a lot of interesting elements in the Taiwanese culture that are “fashionable”. Right now, I am just thinking of the Taiwanese aborigines costumes and dance, but also the Hakka people and their culture… In Taiwan, there is so much diversity that culture is a wealthy source of inspiration for fashion. We are privileged to live in a world where information is accessible to a greater number of people so we can easily explore new culture and learn form each other. Of course, with Internet we have a lot of input from the West because resources and promotion are also heavy there. But in the same time, in Asian there are more and more initiatives and talents growing. I think what Asia needs, is to reveal more about the different local cultures to have a more significant and authentic footprint in fashion. Resources and promotion are critical but this is a scale issue and things are changing…
Ｑ：你認為台灣在亞洲時尚的定位是什麼？
Ａ：台灣其實有很多在地的元素，例如說原住民、客家、閩南、外省文化…等等，過渡來台灣，加上現在網路資訊的發達，世界其實都是平的，在接收各式各樣的資訊方面都非常的廣泛，所以我們可以將在地文化跟西方融入呈現新的作品及風貌，亞洲不乏這樣的人才也可以創作出國際化的作品，就是需要更多的資源及推廣，讓作品被世界看見。
Free time…
During my free time, I like travelling but what matters is not really the destination you pick but the way you travel. What I like the most is to explore things out of the main path. A journey is enriching when you meet with unexpected things and surprises. Travelling is definitely a great hobby!
Ｑ：工作之餘你最喜歡做什麼？
Ａ：其實在服裝設計及繪畫之外，我很喜歡到各地去旅行，譬如我到了淡水，我不會直接去老街，我一定繞著那些奇奇怪怪的小路，去發現很多有趣的東西，我很喜歡換那種不經意，沒有設限的旅程，在一路上會發現很多意外的驚喜。
Taichung versus Taipei…
I think that Taipei has a faster pace of life than Taichung because Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan. Taipei is also more internationalized because this is the Taiwan financial center. As a result, the dressing standards and codes are different between the two cities. Taipei is more trendy and fashionable in a way, but Taichung is more relax with a different lifestyle: more casual. If you are looking for upgrading your quality of life welcome to Taichung!
Ｑ：台中跟台北對你而言在生活步調及時尚專業上有何差異？
Ａ：台北的步調很快，因為是首都，所以比較國際化。在穿著跟打扮上也更多元性跟大膽、奔放。對台中這個城市而言，他很適合生活，因為步調就較慢，也很多有趣的店，只是說在時尚的接受度就沒有台北那麼快速。
Art in Taichung…
Art in Taichung is everywhere! This city has an art beat… In fact, there are many places where you can be infused by art: a lot of galleries, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung which holds a lot of great exhibitions, then there are also some nice and cozy coffee shops where some artwork are showcased or where people like to comment about what’s going on in art field. In Taichung, there is also a great traditional market where you can find all kind of wonders from local artists from Taichung region.
Ｑ：在台中有什麼關於藝術方面的地物會建議大家去參觀？
Ａ：其實有太多有去的地方了，除了很多的畫廊之外，我們的國立台灣美術館就是在台中，除了常常舉辦有很多很棒的展覽之外，延著美術館前的綠園道你會看到旁邊的忠信市場，那裡集結了很多獨立的藝術家，然後有許多有特色的咖啡店，那邊是一個傳統的市場，但結合了新的元素、年青的元素進去，也有一些獨立的書店，甚至可以在一個傳統的市場內找到一些新的東西，我覺得很值得推薦這個地方。
Your future…
I do not have a strong academic background in fashion design from famous design school. So I still work on improving myself because in fashion design you need to be constant learner. So, I tend to focus more on the technical side and to look around me to seize all the opportunities to show my skills and my passion for creation. In the future, my dream is to develop my own fashion brand to focus on fashion art design.
Ｑ：對未來的規劃？
Ａ：我其實並沒有接受過很完整的服裝設計教育訓練，所以很多時候我會自己去買書、買版型然後自己上網找資訊來創作，我希望在未來的十年內我可以在把更多設計方面的技術引導到我的作品裡面，然後讓創作有不同方式的呈現，當然我會持續的熱愛畫畫，因為他就是我的生命。一直以來我都想創立自己的品牌，為我除了具備創意性的服裝設計之外，我也有設計成衣的能力，當然要創立一個品牌需要很多的考量與資源，所以這對我來說並不是一件容易的事情，但是我希望、也一定要讓它夢想成真。
