From the Hong Kong Art Basel event to the flourishing fashion weeks events to celebrate Asian talented designers, it’s surrealistic to see this region of the world emerging as the brightest scene of Art & Culture in the world. Of course, the dynamics are and will remain different from Western flavors, I would say that it’s a paramount prerequisite to guarantee and to maintain an authentic Asian sensitivity. At its origins, the Surrealism movement was a thinking way to re-define a perception of reality. Judging from the number of influencers in fashion industry such as the clothing designer Chloe Chen, or the jewelry designer Jade Chiu, reality is: Taiwan is a unique incubator to grow and re-define fashion & mode perception. But not only… The Surrealism movement also imposed a new gaze on society norms and values. That’s why, in this issue we are also delighted to introduce the artist Su, Hui-Yu that explores the surreal universe of dreams and consciousness to create imagery of society that affects our daily life.

Art of photography was a powerful underlying of surrealism movement to experiment techniques to craft visual imagery. In order to give a tribute to the legacy of free men, we religiously depict the theoretical approach of surrealism movement with a deep lecture of the movement to translate that concept into a fashion story featuring Chloe Chen last collection. To remember those free men, the only thing we can do is to live by passion and to die by passion.

“超現實”的亞洲…
在文化與藝術相關領域中，結合令人目眩神迷的創造力、無邊無際的欣賞角度正是處於亞洲時所能體驗的超現實感受。從香港巴賽爾藝術展，到一連串的時裝週活動等等，無一不是為亞洲設計師喝采的證據。在文化與藝術的寬廣世界中，以鮮明色彩湧現的亞洲正是不容忽視的超現實現象。
當然，前提是亞洲的文化和藝術在與西方相較之下，能夠保有原有獨到的敏銳度。「台灣」就是一個強而有力的借鏡。

顧名思義，「超現實運動」是一種重新檢視現實的思考模式。台灣的時尚產業中有許多重要的設計師，例如服裝品牌設計師Chloe Chen,和珠寶設計師Jade Chiu等等，她們都是驅使台灣重新定義時尚觀點的影響，除此之外，超現實運動更創造出社會上嶄新的水準和價值觀。我們很榮幸的在本期雜誌中為您介紹藝術家蘇匯予（Su, Hui-Yu ）由社會對日常生活的影響發想而創造出一系列夢境和潛意識的影像作品。

攝影藝術一種是實踐工藝意象的強烈手段。我們利用Chloe Chen 的最新系列傳達更深層的意義，獻給自由人類的超現實運動，「我們因熱情而生，因熱情而死。」－這是我們緬懷自由人的方式。
在這樣的時代，這樣的產業中，在時尚藝術相關的領域中擔任媒體人的角色本來就是一種超現實的體會，一切都圍繞著這句話:「我們的原則定義我們的存在。」
